- Creating and managing your DocSynth account
We understand the importance of privacy in the digital age and have designed our practices to be in compliance with data protection laws applicable in the United States, European Union (GDPR), and other global jurisdictions.
1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide to Us:
- Email address: Required to create an account and authenticate users
- First and Last Name: Optionally collected during profile setup
- Company Name and Country: Optionally collected to help us understand our user base and provide better localization and support
- Messages and Inquiries: If you contact us, we may store your email and the content of your message for customer support purposes
We do NOT collect:
- Phone numbers
- Sensitive personal data unless explicitly submitted (e.g., through support queries)
B. Automatically Collected Information:
- Device and Technical Info: IP address, browser type, device type, OS, referring URLs
- Usage Data: Actions taken on the platform (e.g., features accessed, documents processed, time spent on pages)
- Cookies and Local Storage: Used for session authentication, remembering user preferences, and improving user experience
C. Uploaded Content:
- We allow users to upload PDF and text files for the purpose of generating synthetic question-answer datasets.
- DocSynth does not retain the contents of uploaded files.
- Uploaded files are temporarily processed by our AI engine and are deleted automatically after processing.
- No document content is stored in long-term storage, shared with third parties, or reused in any way.
2. How We Use Your Information

- Improve and personalize user experience
- Communicate with users about their account or document processing status
- Ensure security and prevent fraudulent use
- Analyze platform usage and performance for development purposes

3. Analytics and Tracking Tools
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4): Collects anonymous information about website interactions, traffic sources, and conversions
- Amplitude Analytics: Tracks feature engagement, session behavior, and user flows
- PostHog: Provides in-depth product analytics including funnel tracking, retention, and session replays
- Intercom: Enables live chat, user onboarding, and support. Stores user identifiers, session timestamps, and chat interactions
All tools are used strictly for product improvement, and data collected is anonymized or pseudonymized wherever possible.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share limited information with trusted service providers to operate the platform:
- Supabase: Manages authentication, user profiles, and database storage
- Google Cloud APIs: Processes file content temporarily for Q&A generation
- Analytics tools: GA4, Amplitude, PostHog, Intercom (see above)
We may also disclose your information if required by law, in response to legal processes, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or our organization.
5. Data Retention
- User profile data is retained as long as your account is active
- Uploaded files are deleted immediately after processing
- Analytics and usage logs are stored for a limited duration for analysis and debugging

If you are located in the EU/EEA, under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access and obtain a copy of your personal data
- Correct inaccuracies in your personal data
- Request deletion of your data
- Restrict or object to processing
- Withdraw your consent at any time
If you are a California resident, under the CCPA, you have the right to:
- Know what data we collect
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Opt-out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell data)

7. Data Transfers and International Use
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside of your own, including the United States. We use appropriate legal safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), to protect your data in cross-border transfers.

DocSynth is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
