1. About DocSynth

DocSynth is an AI-based tool that allows users to upload documents and generate synthetic question-answer datasets. The platform is intended for researchers, educators, developers, and data scientists who want to create or enhance datasets for machine learning models and educational applications.

2. User Accounts

  • To use most features, you must register with a valid email address
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • You may not share your account with others or impersonate another individual
  • You agree to provide accurate information and update it as needed

3. Permitted Use

  • You agree to use DocSynth only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You shall not:
    • Upload or share unlawful, copyrighted, or harmful content
    • Reverse engineer, modify, or interfere with the platform
    • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
    • Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the service

4. Uploaded Content and Processing

  • Documents uploaded to DocSynth are used solely for temporary processing
  • Content is not stored beyond the duration needed to generate Q&A pairs
  • DocSynth does not access, mine, or reuse your documents
  • Users retain full ownership of their uploaded files and generated content

5. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property related to the platform, including but not limited to the software, UI, branding, and AI models, is owned by DocSynth. Users retain all rights to their uploaded documents and outputs.

6. Subscriptions and Fair Use

  • Some features of the platform may require a paid subscription. We reserve the right to:
    • Set usage quotas based on plan level
    • Monitor for abuse or resource overuse
    • Suspend accounts exceeding fair use limits

7. Third-Party Services

Our platform integrates with external services including Supabase, Google Cloud, Intercom, Amplitude, and PostHog. By using DocSynth, you agree to their terms and data handling practices as required to operate core functionality.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

  • DocSynth is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant:
    • That the platform will be error-free or uninterrupted
    • That the results will be accurate or suitable for all purposes
    • Use of the platform is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocSynth is not liable for:
    • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
    • Loss of data or content due to platform issues
    • Delays, service disruptions, or third-party errors

10. Termination

  • We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access if you breach these Terms or abuse the service. You may delete your account at any time.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. For users located in other jurisdictions, local consumer rights laws may still apply.

12. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or website notice. Continued use of DocSynth constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
